As we near Companies That Care Day this week, we took a look at some of the ways we can all care more for the world around us. For anyone wanting to be more eco-friendly, here are five apps that can help you.

If you want to be more eco-friendly but perhaps want some help instilling better habits, then Eevie is the app for you. With Eevie you can set yourself weekly goals to reduce your impact. It has everything from meatless days through switching lights off to minimising the amount you drive, and more. You can follow the progress you’re making and track your impact.  Along with tracking progress, you can learn more about that impact as well as why it’s important to improve and how you can adapt. If you want to reduce food waste in your home, Kitche is the app for you. Kitche keeps track of the ingredients you have in your house, storing them in a virtual pantry. You can then add reminders to be notified of food reaching its best before date, and track the food you end up throwing away so you can learn how to improve your habits. What’s more, Kitche offers a range of smart recipes, suggesting what to make based on the ingredients you have. Have you ever had a selection of food items approaching their best before date but you’re not sure what to do with them? That won’t be a problem any more and you’ll be eco-friendly at the same time. reGAIN is the application equivalent of donating to a charity shop. In exchange for donated clothes, shoes, and accessories, reGAIN will provide you with discount coupons to save money on clothes, footwear, nutrition products, homeware goods, or travel. To get the discounts you need to donate a minimum of ten items. All you gave to do is package them up and print off a free shipping label. Once that’s done, head over to your local drop-off point. The app’s messaging feature enables you to arrange no-contact pick-ups, to make cutting down on waste as simple and safe for everyone.
