How to Factory Reset your iPhone

With the iPhone being the giant that it is in the smartphone world, hundreds of millions of people own one. Unfortunately this means that not everyone will know every aspect of it.

You have probably heard of “Factory Reset” before. This is to take any device and restore it back to what the phone had when it was in store, prior to anyone purchasing the device. However, just sending your phone out to someone to reset it was risky and could expose your personal data. Instead, Apple implemented a way for you to do from the comfort of your own home.

The best way to Factory Reset your iPhone

For starters you will need to navigate to your Settings. The app icon is a silver cog.

Then, select the bar that says General.

Scroll all the way down to the bottom. You will need to click Transfer or Reset iPhone. If you are moving everything to a new handset, you can store all your apps and data into the cloud to transfer to another iPhone. Otherwise, please make sure that everything you need is saved as you will lose it for good.

When you are ready to factory reset your phone, tap Erase All Content and Settings.

That is all there is to it. Once again, we encourage you to double check that you have everything you need transferred to the new device or backed up in the cloud before proceeding.
